Navigating the Dashboard
A guided tour of the Nightshift navigation — what each section does and when to use it.
The Nightshift dashboard uses a top navigation bar to organize everything into clear sections: Brief, Intelligence, Forecasting, People, CRM, Command Center, Jordan, Help, and Settings. Click any section to jump straight to it.
The navigation bar
The main navigation runs along the top of every page. It stays visible as you move through the dashboard, so you always know where you are and can jump to any section in one click.

Here is what each section gives you:
Brief
Your Morning Brief is the first thing you see when you log in. It is your daily snapshot — KPIs, revenue numbers, alerts, and a plain-English summary of what happened yesterday and what needs your attention today.
This is the page most owners check every single morning. If you only look at one page, make it this one.

When to use it: Every morning. Also useful mid-day if you want a quick status check.

Intelligence
The Intelligence Hub is where you go for deep dives. It has five sub-pages:
| Sub-page | What it shows | |---|---| | Financial | P&L, cash flow, AR aging, unit economics | | Sales | Pipeline, win/loss rates, CLV, booking trends | | Operations | Job lifecycle, tech productivity, dispatch efficiency | | Marketing | Campaign ROI, lead sources, customer acquisition costs | | People | Payroll costs, headcount, compensation benchmarks |
Each sub-page has charts, trend lines, and comparison tools. Use the date picker at the top right to change the time range on any Intelligence page.

When to use it: When you want to understand why a number is what it is. The Brief tells you what happened; Intelligence tells you why.
Forecasting
Forecasting is where Nightshift looks forward instead of backward. The landing page is the Command View — a single screen with four scorecards (cash runway, revenue trend, capacity, demand), an alerts panel, and a 90-day outlook chart.
From there, you can drill into six specialized modules:
- Cash Flow — 13-week cash projection with payroll countdown
- Revenue — Three-layer forecast with confidence bands
- Demand — Seasonal patterns, weather overlays, call volume predictions
- Capacity — Team utilization and hiring trigger points
- Marketing ROI — Channel performance and spend optimization
- What-If Scenarios — Slider-based modeling for business decisions

When to use it: Weekly planning, monthly reviews, and anytime you are making a decision about spending, hiring, or growth.

People
The People section covers your team: employee directory, payroll status, technician scorecards, and productivity metrics. This is where you review payroll runs that Sterling has prepared and track team performance over time.
When to use it: Payroll days (typically Wednesday/Thursday), performance reviews, and when you want to see how your techs are doing.
CRM
Your sales pipeline lives here. The CRM tracks opportunities from first contact through close, with deal stages, activity timelines, and revenue projections. It syncs with ServiceTitan so you are not double-entering data.
When to use it: Reviewing open deals, checking sales rep activity, and managing your pipeline.
Command Center
The Command Center is your control room for the entire agent system. It has multiple tabs:
| Tab | What it shows | |---|---| | Overview | High-level system status and health | | Control | Pending approvals and directives | | Agents | Each agent's current status and recent activity | | Heartbeat | The 6-minute check-in pulse from every agent | | Incidents | Issues flagged by agents for your review | | Runs | History of every agent task execution | | Skills | What each agent is trained to do | | Training | Agent learning and improvement logs | | Admin | System configuration and diagnostics |

When to use it: When you want to see what your agents have been doing, approve pending actions, or investigate an issue.

Jordan
Jordan is your personal AI assistant. You can ask Jordan questions in natural language — about your business, your data, or anything else. Jordan has access to everything Nightshift knows and can pull answers from any of your connected systems.
When to use it: Anytime you have a question. "What was revenue last week?" or "Which tech had the most callbacks?" — just ask.
Help
The page you are on right now. Searchable articles, step-by-step guides, and an AI chat assistant that can answer questions from the knowledge base.
Settings
System configuration: user management, company profile, integrations, and preferences. This is where you connect ServiceTitan, QuickBooks, and Gusto, manage PINs, and configure your agent permissions.
Tips for getting around
Use keyboard shortcuts
Press / from any page to jump to the search bar. Press B to go back to the Brief. These shortcuts are listed in Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts.
Check the status bar
The bar at the very top of the page shows your current company, connection status for your integrations, and the last time data was refreshed. A green dot means everything is connected and current.
Switch companies
If you manage multiple locations, use the company switcher in the top-left corner to change which business you are viewing. All data, KPIs, and agent activity update instantly.
